I just purchased an iPod Remote for my Universal Doc. One can easily imagine the wonders of sitting on the couch and scrolling through your music and videos while turning your TV into a large iPod menu. No such luck!
The iPod remote is arguably the most worthless piece of electronics ever manufactured by Apple. Apple RemoteAll hype and no payoff. Sure, it has a nice menu button, but it is non-functioning on iPods of any type. Click away. It does absolutely nothing.

Proper use of the device requires you to physically select a playlist from the iPod itself. The only thing you can do on the remote is play/pause, skip to the next sequential track, or adjust the volume. Since it is most likely connected to your stereo system (as mine is) the volume feature is a just as useless as the menu button. I already have a remote for that function.

And how much does this little miracle of a pause button cost you? $29.00. What a deal!

Save your money and spend it on a decent set of headphones like E3C's from Shure. But remember to read other product reviews on those before dropping $180 on them.

For 100+ uses for a dead cat, check out this website or visit Amazon.com to buy the book.
